1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ an excellent option for those looking for an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience but don't mind taking the time to empty their robot's trash bin when it fills up.
Both robots do well picking up surface debris on hard floors and carpets, and they're very adept in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we test. It may be stuck on power cords or socks, and may have trouble navigating between surfaces, such as rug and hardwood.
iRobot recommends clearing areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. It's also a good idea to keep the bin and filter clean so they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to charge.
2. IRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model of the flagship line from iRobot and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and direct your robot by voice or via the app.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.
We were also impressed by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

In a world filled with vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in a majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases cleaner air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large crumbs and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It quickly switches from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.
This model also has docks that charge to 100% in 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments as well as the clip for a wand. This is a big improvement over the older Dysons models, which require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. As CR's tests have shown, its advertising claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home but not long enough to cover every area (though a second run-through usually does the trick). This model has its own advantages, however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than older Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeably superior on low-pile floor carpet.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It was able to remove the majority of types of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area many times to give an extensive clean. Its flat front allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it isn't equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top picks and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects because it has fewer parts that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. robotic vacuum cleaners has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.
The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, as it has a longer battery life, can change its suction power mode manually, comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and is more effective on floors with low pile and bare.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's no surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings, and more. The app is easy to use and understand similar to other Samsung devices.
In our tests our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller objects like socks or cords. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models that we tested, and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.
The smart vacuum has an onboard camera that you can access via the app, and you can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to monitor your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be cleaned for quick, easy cleanup. Unlike other robotic vacuums, that are specifically designed for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They also include two side sweepers to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which senses whether it's picking up dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and then automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also has an app that allows you to view a virtual map, control functions, and create schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and connect it to the dock for charging at the press of a single button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.
The app also makes it simple to manually steer the robot should you need to. For instance, my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can make it difficult for other robots I've tried. The HRV 425BL, however continued to travel across the border, without notifying the edge. The ability to program a weekly cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
